Your responsibilities
- Supplier Relations:
- Conduct business within established supplier relationships
- Identify and communicate internally any supplier concerns or opportunities. Support cost recovery initiatives
- Support problem resolution discussions with suppliers and ensure the adequacy and timeliness of supplier correction action plans
- Enter cost changes, assign selected suppliers, and support sourcing projects
- Prepare and solicit requests for quotes and proposals based on the defined commodity strategy
- Sourcing Priority Management:
- Maintain current pricing and communicate cost opportunities when identified. Work with suppliers to resolve price and invoice discrepancies
- Monitor and drive supplier performance for assigned categories to ensure suppliers are meeting Polaris requirements for quality and delivery
- Help support part shortages and delivery issues when necessary
- Monitors supplier capabilities, lead-times, and capacity to ensure on-time delivery of MRO items needed to support production, maintenance, and other end users
- Identifies new product and process technologies and facilitates introducing the organization to suppliers that may possess new or superior technical capabilities
- Manages the plants purchase requisition system within EAM; including negotiating best pricing and quality and submitting PO’s to suppliers
- Provide assistance with tool crib to help maintain accurate inventories, set adequate stock levels, and determine actions for non-moving items
Our requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or other technical area
- Previous materials/purchasing experience preferred, especially within MRO and Indirect
- 2-3+ years of working experience
- Effective negotiation, decision making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written & verbal communication within team and cross-functionally
- Highly organized and effective in managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to professionally represent Polaris by developing productive working relationships with suppliers
- Experienced in presentation abilities, including PowerPoint development. Expected to present to smaller audiences on occasion
- Knowledge of Project Management tools and ability to assist in tasks assigned by Project Managers
- Fundamental knowledge of MAPICS MRP and web-based business systems desired

Job summary:
As a Sourcing Specialist I, you will manage the MRO/Indirect supply base for the Opole site to ensure all suppliers meet our three priorities: Delivery, Quality, and Cost Competitiveness. Working with the commodity team, you will execute according to an established commodity strategy, ensuring effective communication with the departments of Engineering, Production, Planning and Accounting as well as external suppliers.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI’S)
- NPI - ensuring availability of parts for new projects - support of prototype constructions and selection of suppliers, as well as ensuring availability of parts for and after SOP, in cooperation with the planning and production department.
- Cost reduction - initiation and implementation of VIP projects and implementation of framework agreements for suppliers.
- Cost control - supports global purchases regarding material costs (price lists) and rebates (quarterly / semi-annual / annual). Material cost control for local EMEA suppliers. Invoice approval (Buyer messages) and effective RRDM management.
- Support the Maintenance department with RFQ process to be conducted on key categories gas and electricity with a 5% (10% stretch target) cost reduction.
- Focus and support to be provided to Tool Shop department for all tool components: map the entire tool shop spend, number of suppliers and conduct RFQ with target to secure costs and 5% cost improvement
